“The objective of the call for proposals is to raise awareness of consumers, notably young ones, especially in educational environments, about the benefits of protecting IP rights and the damages caused by IPR infringement by highlighting the importance of IP in supporting creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. It intends to increase knowledge and engage priority audiences to foster respect for IP, with a view to ultimately changing people’s behaviour: reducing their purchases of counterfeit goods or their access to digital content from illegal sources.
To tackle IP awareness from all perspectives, this year’s edition also aims to raise the IP awareness of SMEs on the benefits of creating, exploiting and protecting IP rights as part of their business’ activities and strategies and for the first time there is a dedicated strand for this purpose.
